In Telkhola, lives Shahida Akhter, a resilient 36-years-old woman. In 2022, a ray of hope shone into Shahida’s life when she became a beneficiary of the LIFE project. The project bestowed upon her a precious gift with a goat kid. With gleaming eyes and a heart full of gratitude, Shahida embraced this new opportunity. She eagerly participated in agriculture cultivation and livestock rearing training sessions to learn how to take care of her new goat kid as well as learn how to grow crops better.

She was eager to discover the best ways to care for her new goat and ensure it stays healthy. The training sessions educated her on the importance of nourishments for goats with healthy food and protecting them from the biting cold. Whenever her goat fell sick, the project offered financial assistance for veterinary care. Moreover, the LIFE project ensures financial support in cases of any unfortunate loss, allowing beneficiaries to buy a new goat.

The impact of the LIFE project spread throughout Shahida’s community. Many women, like her, found newfound financial independence. They are now actively contributing to their children’s education and assist with other household expenses.
